The Gokai Way is a professional holistic health practice based in Stoke-on-Trent, North Staffordshire. It was founded by Mark Brereton, and offers a personal approach to Japanese Health Arts and some of these include – Reiki, Kiko, and Zazen.

The Gokai Way was founded after Mark recovered from a serious illness and using the techniques and methods taught to him by various energy teachers, he then wanted to share his knowledge and experience with others. You can read Mark’s full story at the following link – Read More.

A little bit about The Gokai Way – Gokai translates from Japanese to English meaning – Five Precepts or Principles. They were originally taught in many different approaches and perspectives in traditional Japanese Arts such as Buddhism, Reiki or Martial Arts. Therefore, The Gokai Way treats the ‘Five Principles’ as the basic ethos of life and professional practice. Please see the Japanese and English translation below.

  • Kyo dake wa – Today Only
  • Ikaruna – Do Not Anger
  • Shin pai suna – Do Not Worry
  • Kansha shite – With Thankfulness
  • Gyo wo hageme – Work Diligently
  • Hito ni shinsetsu ni – Be Kind To Others

The Gokai Way / Mark Brereton is a Professional Registered Practitioner with the Shibumi International Reiki Association. and the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT). Plus a Reiki Practitioner officially trained with Jikiden Reiki Kenkyukai and Komyo Reikido.

Mark Brereton is fully proficient with the following – Professional Indemnity and Public liability insurance | Enhanced Disclosure and Barring certificate | First Aid Certificate | Anatomy and Physiology certificate. | Ongoing Yearly Professional Training & Development.
